Our Profile
Tshole Trust was initially established as a waste oil management project under Somarelang Tikologo. After having sustained itself, the project became a standalone programme within the same NGO and was later, 2nd March 2004, registered with Registrar of Societies as a society, under the name Tshole Conservation Society. During the same year on 11th June 2004 it was then transformed to be a trust registered in the Deeds Office of Botswana, and it was then called Tshole Trust." The Tshole Trust's over-arching aim is to monitor, co-ordinate and increase effectiveness of Botswana's Waste Oil Management recommendations infrastructure, while elevating the awareness of responsible waste oil management throughout the country.

Tshole Trust exists to coordinate the activities of waste oil management stakeholders and disseminate related public education for a sustainable environment.

Objectives of the Tshole Trust
The Tshole Trust exists;
- To increase the amount of waste oil recovered in Botswana.
- To encourage greater environmental awareness of the need for each individual and organisation to protect Botswana's environment by employing the suitable waste oil management infrastructure responsibly.
- To identify, monitor and discourage waste oil-generating activities, which threaten the well-being of the environment.
- To provide information and advice on waste oil recovery, disposal and recycling.
- To encourage the adoption and effective implementation of legislation and policies, which promote waste oil management, processes, resource utilisation, and waste oil disposal practices.
- To liaise with relevant government and non-governmental organizations involved in activities related to waste oil management
