Environmental Education & Awareness
Understanding Used Oil. Preventing Pollution.
Keeping used oil out of our environment starts with knowing how to handle it responsibly. Tshole Trust promotes awareness of used oil pollution and the practical steps individuals, businesses and communities can take to protect Botswana’s soil and water.
Through workshops, community engagement and stakeholder activities, we share a clear message: No Oil to the Ground.
Schools & Young Learners
Our school awareness activities introduce learners to used oil management in a simple, practical way. Sessions explore where used oil comes from, why improper disposal causes harm and how responsible actions help protect the environment.
The aim is to build understanding that learners can share with their families and communities.
Community Awareness
We encourage communities to take an active role in preventing used oil pollution. Awareness activities explain the importance of proper storage, keeping used oil separate from other waste and confirming suitable collection arrangements.
Community events, including the Inter-Oil Games, also provide opportunities to bring people together around environmental responsibility.
Businesses & Workplaces
Workshops, service stations, transport operators and other businesses have an important role in responsible used oil management. Our education efforts promote better handling practices and cooperation with suitable collection service providers.
Topics include safe storage, preventing leaks, avoiding contamination and arranging responsible collection.
Working with Partners
Tshole Trust works with stakeholders to extend the reach of environmental education. Engagement with local authorities, industry and community organisations helps connect awareness with practical action.
